Circuit Breaker blowing on heater

The circuit breaker keeps tripping when I am running the heater fan (2 outlet heater craft,factory install). It seems to last longer on low speed but both speeds trip the breaker. Any thoughts on what I should begin to check? So far all I have done is put my hand on the housing, it doesn't seem like the fan motor is getting hot but of course there is some warmth coming off the heater core. Any suggestions where to start would be much appreciated.

how long does it take to trip? it could be the blower motor drawing too many amps. or i have seen the breakers get weak, tripping out at less amps them they are suppose to. you might try swithing the load wire on the breaker to another breaker with the same amp rating. the best way is a amp meter that records the highest reading at the time the breaker tripped.

Check to verify that the circuit breaker it's tripping is labeled "heater". There is a chance that someone wired it to the wrong breaker, that is too small for it.

My 3 outlet heater had been retro fitted and wired to the wrong breaker and all I did was move it across to a higher Amp Breaker (clip should just slide off and and all you have to do is swap it over)

Thanks for the tips. I'll check the amperage of the breaker, also I'll check that there is not a crack or potential ground fault int the wire runs.
