fuel filters on sportster

Recommended Posts

I was just double checking with the crew with regards to how many fuel filters would be on my sportster with a 340 Monsoon. I have always just changed the in-line one back at the gas tank but was making sure that was the only one. Can any one confirm this. I've looked around and can't find another one.

And while I'm asking Tech questions, I am going to change the spark plugs and cap and rotor this spring. How many of you change these regularly and how long should plug wires last. Do you replace them when Ohms readings are too high or what? Any help would be appreciated.

If your boat is an 03, it has the 335 Monsoon. My 03 had only one inline filter. It was around that time that the canister style, water-separating fuel filter was done away with. If you had one, it would be on the side of the motor and look similar to an oil filter. But I don't think you have one.

Okay thanks. Mine actually has the 2004 340 Monsoon. The 335 hp was replaced completely under a warranty issue. So yes I made out Okay. I believe that mine doesn't have that water separator.
