no breather tube out of the carb filter? Steaming

I don't know much to nothing about the v8 pleasure craft engine. There seems to be a breather tube missing and now its steaming quite a bit or burning oil? Where do I start? Also the colors are faded on the boat what do I do to make it shine again?

color faded you mean gelcoat or vinyl??

you can wet sand with 1500 and 2000 grid sand paper then polish and wax the gel coat

use 3m vinyl restore then 303

the breather should go to the intake that's where mine vents

My '95 was dull also. I just used a low rpm buffer and a cleaner and wax product from 3M. It brought back the shine nicely.

The older models didn't have PCV valves as cars did. OEM was to have two vent tubes that come up from the valve covers to the outside of the spark arrestor. Yes it smoked and left an oily film on the entire engine. I installed a PCV valve from the right rear grommet into the spacer plate under the carb. Yes, I had to drill and tap it for a fitting. It is easy to do. You just need to be very careful. The carb and plate must be pulled off to do this.
