Installing dual batteries - to do or not to do...myself

Question. I just bought a 2000 LSV Wakesetter and it only has one battery. I want to add another battery with switch etc. Any thoughts or recommendations on:

1) Easy enough to do it myself, or just pay to have it done

2) Products recommended

I read through the other forums on diagrams etc. My question is if I should do it myself??? I am fairly mechanical and have working knowledge of engines and electronics etc. I just don't want to spend an entire weekend on it. I live in Minneapolis so good weekends are few and precious!!

Thanks

Buy the Blue Sea Add a battery kit, some pre-made battery cable runs from your autoparts store, install it and you'll be done before lunchtime. Just buy another battery the same as you have now.

Bid D posted this ...I justt completed it on my boat and it works get and is super easy!

I fit 3 batteries, amps and a sub in the passenger storage compartment. It's not a show install but I thought I would have pulled it all out and sold the boat by now.

I use a Stinger solenoid for install and forget switching, turn the ignition key off and the batteries are isolated, start the boat and they are all charging. It's worked for 4 years with heavy stereo use. Others like more complicated and more expensive versions that work great also.

550 x 411 (66.11K)

Stinger Solenoid
