Yellow Loogey vs LF Thruster

Well, my wife bought a 2007 Inland Surfer Yellow Loogey the other night and now I'm curious how it is going to compare.

We typically use a 4'2" Liquid Force Custom and liked the board so much we bought the new "Thruster" version. We haven't been out this year yet, but the Loogey looks like it has very similar features to the Thruster.

I'm thinking we have ended up with two similar boards, but she wanted that yellow board... enough said.

Is there anything special about the Loogey? Dontknow.gif

I haven't been on the Thruster personally, but given the three fin setup on the Thruster vs. the 2 fin setup on the loogey, I think you'll find they ride quite differently. Loogey is very loose --- takes a bit to get used to... but the Loogey was one of my favorite boards before I started making my own.... I think you'll enjoy it.

I should have just PM'd you Smed. I figured you'd know something about the Loogey.

Gotta say, that Texas board you built was pretty smooth.Notworthy.gif

Right now, we need to quit buying boards and figure out a rack setup. We can't have 4 boards flopping around in the boat. - Charlie

Thanks Charlie!

As a follow up --- here's an unsolicited video of me on the Loogey for your viewing pleasure (or not). :)

For racks, I'm a solid fan of the Dbot5 surf racks.

All I know is Shred Stixx have been around for a long time. That says something.

I'm pretty fond of the the Liquid Force Custom's, but that's also because they are the first decent boards we have owned. I'm 185lbs and have a blast on the 4'2" Custom model. They also have a nice 4'10" version.

We also bought this years Custom Thruster because it'll handle a little more weight but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Happy hunting. -Charlie

Can't you just remove the center fin from the Thruster? Then would they ride similarly? I'm debating between these two boards. The Thruster is about $100 less.
