Leak in quick disconnect connection

Recommended Posts

I finally got the boat in the water last night and the only leak I found was where the two hoses coming out of the manifolds connect with the quick disconnect connector. I tightened this as much as I could but it still leaked. I then grabbed the gasket out of the end of a garden hose and used that to fix the problem. Should there be a gasket in there? Will it get too hot for a regular garden hose gasket?

Should be ok.

I believe mine has a gasket in it. Maybe yours fell into the bilge?

(edit) And FWIW, I snug mine up by hand and it's fine--no leakage and I never use a wrench.
