Thermostat diag, is this the way it goes together?

i bet it depends on which thermostat housing your boat has, have you tried both ways? seems that they would only let them fit one way with that white plastic sleeve. Dontknow.gif

Which one is correct?

The idea behind the plastic spacer is to let water pass through the exhaust cooling hoses yet keep the engine water restricted to control the temp. If you study the casting you will see.

My '95 uses the left (larger) diagram. The thermostat does not sit in the groove in the intake, it is up in the thermostat housing.
