Samson Mirror Question

I'm looking at getting the Samson Mirror with quick release in the group buy. I keep my boat on a lift with a canopy so I put the tower down every time I come off the water. The pictures of the quick release make it appear that the tower will not drop below the windshield. Or if it does, it looks like the bracket will run right into the dash. Hopefully someone who has seen one of these can let me know if I am looking at this right.

I have the illusion tower with the samson mirror I have no problem putting the tower down mine you can completly remove or just pilot out of the way of the dash

have the mirror that attaches to the tower above the drivers head
