A few of my malibu letters are coming off so i thought i would just take them all off, but the glue from them is still on the decal so can anyone tell me how to get the glue off the decal . I just don't want to damage the decal so i am not sure if i can use thinner.

thanks

I don't have any professional experience as I am not a boat dealer or decal expert but I would try good ole WD40. It's light and I think would be fine for your purpose. After you get the sticky off wash with dish soap to remove the WD40 residue.

go to your local car paint shop and get a can of ur-50 is works great.. just peal all the stickers off where u just have the glue use a scott-tower with the ur 50 and rub till it comes off... also u can use a straight blade with the ur50... to use the blade u (dont scrape) put the blade flat on the boat without cutting into ur gelcoat and run it across the glue and the glue will ball up and u can wipe it off

but what ever u use make sure u wash it after so nothing is sitting on the gel coat and ruin it

The makers of contact cement has some great stuff that takes of that sticky part. Works to get contact cement out of carpet! Whistling.gif
