Friggin M is coming off the boat

So this year we ordered a 05 VLX and had it over a month. Everything is great no problems until one day i look over the boat and noticed the M was coming off the main logo. My malibu is becoming a AlIBU and what is this about. Those M's are on for life. Sorry just venting.

Totally bogus. Did you order the permanent stickers or the temporary ones?

Just contact your dealer. They may ask you to bring it in or just send in a pic. They'll forward it on to Malibu and get a replacement under warrenty. I'd make a list of things, should you have any, and have them do it at the 10hr servicing. imho

Yeah, the "a" and the "l" came off my boat too. So I was driving a M IBU for a while. The dealer took care of it under warranty. No biggie.

i found that some of the different cleaners i used would cause this. pre lift on my '99 is used ON/OFF to clean the hull, and if you touched any part of the letters at all, it would instantly peal off (maybe the product should have been called just OFF). I think it had some type of acid base.

So what do you do when it's out of warranty? I like haveing the name on the side but on my 03 I lost the ALB, so I just pulled the rest off.

If that's the only problem you've had after a month, count yourself lucky. These boats are basically hand built, and you're bound to have some "punch list" items to take care of.

I had quite the list, but the good news is after everything was taken care of, I've been trouble free and quite happy since.....knocking on wood.

Happened to mine too. Replaced at service - no charge. Now the other side is doing it too

Kept the ones they took off, and put them on my beer fridge. Only the best for me. Wow! A Malibu beer fridge!!

I checked into the price for the MALIBU decal. Black with silver out line. He brought out one and told me it was his last one and I was telling him I just wanted a price. He looked up the number and said that would be $100. Then he was telling me to feel lucky because the 05 decals run $200 for one side. so good luck to those with 05's and take it in just befor your warranty runs out.
