Cold Skiing -Neoprene Apres-Ski Jacket

Looking for thoughts, tips, and or feedback...

Waterskiing in Wisconsin can be chilly even in August. We usually are skiing late into the evening on a big body of cool water and it can be cold in the boat even with a wetsuit on.

I keep a Neoprene Neil Pryde jacket in the boat at all times, for myself, but it usually ends up around one of the kids in the boat.

Benefit over other things I've tried is:

Smooth Skin Neoprene so wind does not cool it off

Goes over anything including a wet, wetuit

Does not absorb water - Water Proof

Longer length to keep some of your legs warm, etc.

Thinking about getting a couple more to store in the boat, but thought I would see if anyone has a better solution.

I thought of using a Swim Team Parka but I have not actually checked them out. I still may try one, but they do not appear to be water proof and the thing could end up soaked.

How about just wearing a dry-suit??

Good point on the dry suit, for me.

I guess I should have more cleary said that I want more in the boat for Children.

My daughter is 7, and we are usually out with other families that have children that ski as well.

Not uncommon to have 4 or 5 kids in the boat between ages of 5 to 10 who are wet and COLD

I spend alot of time skiing in the land of the frozen tundra. I found that If you wear a cheap plastic rain suit over you wet suit you stay real warm, even at dusk when the air gets cold and the lake fogs in the fall

Eagle has these neoprene jackets.

So it's OK to stay wet, you just don't want the cold air/wind to chill off your warm/wet neoprene. Either take off the wetsuit and completely dry off so you can wear that TYR jacket, or get something waterproof to stop the wind (Neil Pride). I think you'd be OK with either option, just depends on what you want to be doing/wearing.
