Surf Board Recommendation

I did a search on this but didn't find anything discussing recent products.

I'm wanting to get into wake surfing this summer. 5'10" ~ 200lbs. I have mostly skied and some limited wakeboarding. Surfing looks like a another fun way to burn some gas.

Any product suggestions for a beginner? I'd like a board that will allow me to grow into a novice level before outgrowing it.

For me you would need to two boards for what you want to do. For beginners I would look at the Hyperlite Broadcast 5' 6" or Liquid Force Venture 5' 6". When you start to become advanced I would move into the Phase 5 Oogle or Liquid Force Custom 4' 10". I will be riding all these boards this summer and can report more. I'm 5'10" and 15lbs more.

I'm a fan of the inland surfer blue lake http://inlandsurfer.com/ - it costs a bit more but it works well for beginners and has room for growth. The size will work well for you too (I'm 6'6" 210 and have no problems). I've been on the board for 1 1/2 seasons of regular recreational use and I don't feel like I've maxed out the capabilities. At the same time, I've been able to get a bunch of first timers riding without much of a problem. The surfing experts may take issue w/ this but I would recommend it as an alternative to buying two boards. (at least until you reach expert status) Regarding the price - If you hunt around you should be able to find one below the list price.
