Trans fluid, fuel filter, and plugs

Recommended Posts

I'm in the process of getting everything ready to run for the year and have two things left. The boat is an 01 VLX with the Monsoon engine. My questions are:

1. What weight oil should be used in the transmission?

2. What spark plugs should I be using?

3. What fuel filter is there?

4. What is the location of the fuel filter in this year boat?

Thanks for your help.

Another quick question. How often does everyone replace their plug wires? I'm not the original owner of the boat and I'm not sure if they are still the original wires.

Searched and could get info on the 340 Monsoon but not much on the 320 in the 01. I don't know if there are any differences between the two engines. No info on the plug wires or plugs for the 320 Monsoon. So your supposed to run ATF fluid in the transmission, about how many quarts?

I'm not sure what trick I'm missing on the search function but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for if I search for things.

Indmar Manual

All the info should be in there, as for the plug wires people usually don't replace them too often unless you have a problem. You can buy a set from www.skidim.com (good place to get all your maintiance stuff). Also if you just call ski dim and tell them what motor you have they will send you all the right stuff.

The fuel filter should be under the back seat, on the port side of the gas tank. There is a Wix cross reference number but I can't remember it at the moment.

AFT is for the tranny, put in what you're able to get out. Dextron II/III. Your V-drive unit requires straight 30 weight oil.
