transmission cooloer screen??

Recommended Posts

On every Indmar powered Malibu that I've ever worked on, the tranny cooler has been mounted between the raw water intake pump and the thermostat housing on the engine block. Just follow the water hose from the pump towards the engine...it's that black "tube" thing that has big hoses on the ends and small hydraulic hoses attached on the side. To clean it out (if an impeller shreds or if you're on a weedy lake) just pull the water hoses off and use a piece of stiff wire to clean out the internal tubes.

Don't the Trans it self have a screen? One of the large nuts on the side IIRC.

The transmission has an internal screen that filters the transmission fluid.
