07 VLX Glovebox

Recommended Posts

I am planning on istalling the Sony XA-110IP Ipod controller in an 07 VLX. I'm thinking about installing it so the Ipod and the cable would be in the glove box but I'm not sure there are any existing holes in the glove box. I would prefer to not cut any holes in the box if there are not any already. The boat is over an hour away right now and I would like to have the longer cables if I plan on istalling this over there. Could someone please check and let me know if there are any existing holes in the glove box large enought to get the serial connector to an Ipod through?

The speaker wire passes through behind there, not sure how big the hole or your cable is however.

The end that I would have to get in the glove box is the big plug that plugs into the bottom of Ipods.

There should be enough room to get the dock connector in glovebox, but you may have to brute force it a little bit. I would also bring some tools with you, so that if you have to remove a couple of screws to free up some extra space you don't get stuck.

You can also pull from the glovebox back to the HU or whatever it hooks up to...I don't think that stereo wire hole is big enough for the ipod plug, but may be big enough for the RCA cables or whatever it interfaces with.

I wish that was the case. It has the Ipod connector and then the other end is a large box that doesn't disconnect from the cable. It has RCAs and a BUS connection that disconnect from the box. I was planning on putting the box in the storage area and having only the Ipod cable in the glove box.
