Center MLS Filling

Recommended Posts

I have a 2005 VRIDE the center tank is filling while driving. I have read the old threads on the subject. For those of you with experience with this please chime in. One note is that I do not have the loop in the passenger seat storage as shown to help in some cases by raising the loop. Malibu must have changed it this year. When you look through the hole at the tank there are three inlet/outlets into the tank. There are two at the top and one at the bottom. The bottom has the drain pump in it. The two at the top must be in and vent. The left one has a loop in it. I do not want to install a manual valve as that defeats the original design to be automatic with the flip of a switch.

I have experienced this as well. My solution has simply been to open the valve when I want to fill and then close it after it is filled. A minor inconvenience.

You need a loop in the fill line that goes up well above the water line before it gets to the tank. That should fix it. Other than that shutting off the valve at the pump as obski mentions would be the only other way around it.

Very true. I was just discussing this the other day with another Crew member, & we both agree that the factories don't seem to be consistent at things like this. It almost seems like whatever is convenient or available at the time is what they do. My boat has the big loop in the fill line, & I've never had a problem with it filling when I don't want it to.
