Merry Christmas everybody, i thought i would give my dealer a break on questioning him to death.

Do the 08 trailers ( i am buying a 08 vtx) come with the rollers so if you bottom the prop saver it doesnt chew up the paint job? i saw them installed on the extreme website .. want sure if it was a standard option??

Its not a stanard option. You will have to pay extra for it.

Plus1.gif They are an option that you must order. I would get them put on right away from Extreme if you want them, although others on this site have put them on afterwards.

Hi there, thanks for the heads up. is it a bolt on option or do they weld the roller shafts in place?

My dealer kind of steered me away from these and the prop guard is pretty banged up just after one summer. I wish I had ordered them. I guess it's another testament to our famous Idaho road system!!!

I would think it would take a serious blow to actually bend the prop guard. So long as you go over any aprons or speed bumps slowly it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, as long as we're talking about must-haves for your trailer - rollers for sure, spare, tie downs (like saying you should include wheels!) swing-away tongue if you are tight on space, LED lights. Not sure which are std. and options on Extreme. Of course, since you have ordered a nice Bu, alloy wheels and a tandem axel complete the package nicely.

It's not bent, but it is a little disheartening to be scraping the nice, new shiny paint off. Cry.gif

Oh I completely agree, and I'm all for the rollers. I was referring to the post above where a dealer steered someone away from getting them because they said the prop guard ends up bent in less than a year. I could see that if the prop guard was repeatedly taking all of the load of the trailer, but that only happens if you're going too fast out of parking lots.

By in large yes, but unfortunately so I've been to enough country bumpkin gas stations that have steep drop off ingress/egress areas that it's impossible to avoid. Most of the in town stuff shouldn't be a problem.

I noticed the Boatmate Trailer has 2 "tabs" on the prop guard.. Is that by chance there to install guard rollers after purchase? If it is I might as well get my hands on some but where do you get them after the trailer leaves the factory? It also seems every Manufacturer uses different looking wheels... Which ones last the longest?
