I get my Broadcast tomorrow just in time for our houseboat trip Friday. I looked and looked to find the answer so I didn't have to post it but.....

how are you supposed to get up? Is it like a wakeskate? or ............?

thanks, Greg

Getting up on the broadcast is easier than getting up on a wakeskate as long as you cut out immediatly and don't get caught in the prop wash. Once you are comfortable getting up on it like a wakeskate yo ucan try stepping off the swim platform onto it.

To step off the swim platform, first get the boat up to speed. Then place the fins of the board on the moving water and the nose of the board on the platform with the tip a few inches from the transom. Place your front foot on the board on top of the platfrom and it will hold the board in place. then place your rear foot all the way back on the board any you are ready to go. To release from the platform put a lot more wieght on your rear foot. most people who fall doing this do an insta-submarine because they still have too much weight forward.

If you ever rode a Skurfer...its exactly like that.

On a side note.....if there are boats around, please don't arc the boat, its hard for others to figure out where your going and it doesn't affect a properly weighted boats wake all that much.

I have been saying that all along yet people keep trying to tell me to arc.

It only changes it slightly and only then at the beginning.

We have even turned away from the surfer and had various but not consistent results.

Best we've seen is load 'em up, VAB to the surfer side (one or 2 in the bow), drop the wedge and go straight (10.7mph regular and 11.2 mph goofy)

Speed depends on the boat & amount of ballast. With Denjoe's boat and just a driver and observer 9.8 mph was where the wake formed up nice and actually curled. It was big enough that ropeless I could drop to the bottom, hard cut to the crest, swing the board hard and get a decent lipslide before dropping back down for another bottom turn. But apparently it wasn't big enough for the local lake patrol to care that we were in the "No Wake" zone. Biggrin.gif
