Drive by wire

I definitely like the boats with a throttle cable versus the drive by wire, but they have been getting better. Haven't done the shift by wire yet but heard it involves a bit of a learning curve.

Either way I would not consider it a major factor at all in a "newer" boat purchase.

Test drove an '08 wakesetter with DBW and SBW. Just had to get used to it a bit. Shifting was very sensitive (especially into reverse).

My own '07 Sunscape is drive by wire and cable shift. Very, very smooth. My wife loves it.

SBW is on all 08s except Response and LX and the Ride series. SBW isn't that sensitive but the new throttle has a shorter throw and that is were people have the learning curve. I agree I wouldn't make either a big buying factor unless you are a salt water boater.
