Generally, if it's 'to good to be true' it probably is.

You want a GOOD deal, not an INCREDIBLE deal. Or it'll come back to bit you in the a$$.

Something has to be wrong there. That is a fine boat that probably could easily bring 25,900.

The words, "Nigerian Auction Fraud" pop into my head when I see something like that.

You may want to look a little closer before you put out any money. $.02

I agree it sounds like a setup, but a pretty slick one. The guy has 100% feedback, and a pretty good history.

The thing that screams fraud though is the lines about how to not bid, just to make a $2900 deposit. I have a feeling that's the last you'd see of the $2900, and since you "didn't bid" you couldn't even leave bad feedback.

This guy has been doing this for a while and as soon as someone notifies e-Bay, he pops up under another name with the same boat. It has been going on for a while now. See this thread in the MC forum, it's one of many dealing with this same boat.

It's a Scam.

I just did some research with square trade. He says square trade will hold the money. This is not true. Square trade says they will never hold the money on behalf of a seller.

Thanks guys

I'm going to contact ebay and try and get this guy shut down

This, unfortunately, happened to my dad and Bro-in-law. Neither are "ebay savvy" and found a "good deal" on an older boat. Everything looked legit, but they are now out a couple grand.
