Binding placement

I have a Carbon Worx ski that I really enjoy and had some old bindings on it. They were starting to rip out, so I picked up a set of Animals for a good deal. I mounted them in what I thought was the same location as my old ones, but the ski felt a bit different. I don't really know how to describe the difference I felt. It did feel as if it was not turning as "hard" as before. The one thing that did happen, is that I blew out the tail on my offside turn. The water was on the ruff side, but not terrible. But, I've never blown out the tail on this ski in the past 2 seasons of use. These bindings are comfortable, and I like how they feel, so I'm just curious what change in placement to try first.

Just a guess but try moving them back one hole... If you have the old boots, you could place them one the ski and measure from the tail to the rubber heel of the front boot. Then place the rubber heel of the new boot in the same location. the amount of forward lean may make the ski ride differently...

I "set" the bindings next to the ski with old bindings still on, and it looked like I mounted them the same, but maybe these do lean a bit more.

Perhaps the DD gods are telling you something... Whistling.gif

Was skiing behind my buddies RLX, but thanks for your concern.

BTW - I've only been behind my new boat 1 time, with 6 people on board and a full tank of gas, I still don't know how it's gonna ski with a lite load. I have been out of town all but a couple days since I picked it up.

I noticed your new boat in the gallery and it looks great! Where do you do most of your boating? My wife and I are both from Idaho Falls and we have family that want to meet for some boating so Boise is a good middle ground but I've heard Lucky Peak isn't the best. What else is there down there?

Quick trips are up to lucky peak, but like everywhere that is close to a city, it gets crowded. Mornings are good, and most evenings are not bad, I don't go in the middle of the day.

As mentioned in another thread, it's only about 1 1/2 hour to Owyee, water temp is upper 70's, not too crowded.
