High Idle

Recommended Posts

What would cause the idle to run at 1500 rpm's? It is on a 04 LSV with the Monsoon and Perfect Pass.

It looks like the throttle cable and perfect pass cable are both fine and the butterfly is returning to the fully closed postion with the throttle closed. Help.gif

Did it just develop or did something happen before the high idle? Was the PP just installed?

A vacuum leak, a faulty coolant temperature sensor, a faulty throttle position sensor can screw up idle.

Check your PCV hose. Make sure it is seated or it causes an air leak and makes the engine idle high.

It just started, this was only the second time out this year, the first time was over a month ago and I do not recall it being that way at the time. I was thinking that maybe I bumped something while changing the impeller.

The PP was factory installed.

I will check that stuff tonight thanks for the help.
