Here's the only photo that I've scanned in...

The wife and I road tripped from St. Louis to Lake Powell in 1999, 1750 miles each way. We're hoping to make a return trip with our two daughters sometime in the coming years but I question whether I can handle that much togetherness Crazy.gif

Being over a thousand miles away, I have never been there. I'd love to see it some day though. I have been reading up on it some. Is it still really low? I read one article that was saying that a lot of the boat ramps can't be used any longer.... And does the sierra club still want to drain it? That's pretty wide to think that somebody would want to drain it.

Maybe they can put a pipe line in from Texas...they have plenty of water the past few day.

The pictures from the trip with the Malibu are at home, so I can add a couple more later.

vlxjeff, nice pictures! Good eye.

I live in TX & don't make it that way much, but looks like a fun lake to spend a few nights on a houseboat & play on!

this is a great topic. never been there but would sure like to go. is october a good time of year? and where is the best place to rent a houseboat?

For less crowds, September and October are the best. I hear it cools off (all relative) a bit in October though.

I've rented from both Wahweap and Halls Crossing. Both are real good. It really depends on what part f the lake you want to explore the most. I'm not sure how the new Antelope Point marina is, but I hear it's pretty nice.

The only downside I can think of with Wahweap right now is the long drive with the houseboat if you want to get out of Wahweap bay and deeper into the canyons. With the low water, you are forced to drive all the way around Antelope Island. Kind of a long haul and uses lots of gas on both the houseboat and your Malibu.
