Ballast Monitoring System

Recommended Posts

Just bought 07 VLX. while breaking it in sitting on the lake i filled the ballast (center, left and right) on the BMS the screen showed the center and left full the right showed 3/4 full progression. when I emptied them the right still showed 3/4 full even though no more water was coming out. Anybody have any similar situations and how did they fix it. Innocent.gif

The same thing happende on my VTX. I took it to dealer and they said that the float was probably stuck. That is what it was. The fixed it and not a problem since.

Were you moving when this happened? I find that the BMS is less than reliable while on the move.

I bought a brand new 'o6 VLX first time out I filled all ballast tanks and right rear would'nt drain. The pump that drains that tank was bad. I replaced it myself, because I drove two states over to get my ride. Te pump is simple to replace, but pretty hard to get access to.

the monitoring works better while not moving because then the water isn't moving inside the ballasts, so the float isn't moving around changing the reading every time you hit a wave.
