Best way to keep engine clean

Recommended Posts

Spray WD-40 on everything.

I've been doing this for years on my dirt bikes and cars/trucks. keeps them shiny and new displaces water is a rust inhibitor and makes clean up the next time easier because dirt and gunk won't stick well to the light coating of oil. I have a lifted truck and also spray the fender wells my 6 year old truck looks like it's never been driven through a puddle the engine looks like 0 miles and my dirt bikes look like they've never been in the dirt.

When you first start the engine it'll smoke for a minute or two until the WD burns off the exhaust.

There lived a guy once who would recommend Boeshield T9. Though he was also prone to saying :biteme: , he generally gave out good advice.

funny, my engine actually looks clean, and I don't really do anything to it (and I am in a brackish water environment). I do have some rust spots, but I usually repaint those spots at the beginning of the season.

Boat inboards don't to get dirty like car engines.
