Adding the bow ballast tank

I have searched and searched and can't seem to find any info on this, but can you add the bow ballast tank to an 05 VLX? I have lead up there right now, but I would rather not carry the weight with me everywhere i go. Does anyone have a picture of what the tank looks like with the bow cushion out of the way? Any info is appreciated.

I have researched this subject as well and unfortunately you cannot add the ballast tank without major customization. I have called all the dealers in my area, even the factory in Merced, CA and they will not even sell you their tank after the fact. In fact the bow tank is installed under the seats in the bow. The tank is installed in Lew of the storage that is in either side. The best possible solution is to get the integrated bow sack. Check out the link to the sack.

But, if you find someone that will sell you the tanks or find another solution please PM me or post it here.

Thats not really the answer i wanted to hear. i was hoping to find out that it was easy to get and retrofit in. Does anyone have a picture of what the tank looks like?

I asked how I could retro fit a bow tank to my 07 VLX when I was at the factory last week.

The floor above the gas tank is a removable piece of Aluminum honeycomb.

You remove that, then remove the gas tank, then slide the center ballast tank back and remove that, then you can slide a bow tank in under the front floor. All this means fittings hoses, pumps and a whole lot of other "bits and pieces" need to be removed as well to allow removal of the tanks, a major exercise. It's just easier to add a fat sac under the front seats !!

Actually the bow tank is under the front seats, which eliminates any front storage, so the front fiberglass is different for a boat without tank. Wouldn't want to tackle that one. It is gas tank and center ballast under the floor. If you pull the center opening you can see the pumps and tanks postions. I have seen the boat with tanks in place at the factory before floor is covered.
