Wht kind of grease

Recommended Posts

What is everyone using? Getting ready to work on the trailer and will be re-packing the bearings. I used to use a Penzoil marine synthetic that was a white lithium based grease but can't find it anymore. The most available is the green "marine" grease that most everyone sells.

That's what was in my bearings to begin with, so I stick with that. I don't think it's a lithium based grease, but I could be wrong. But I don't think you want to mix grease types, so if you're just topping off, try to stick with what's already in there.

I think that it is bubble gum based, the way it feels.

Just repack everything in one kind of marine grease (green) and your done. If your replacing the bearings which is very inexpensive you should also replace the race inside the hub as well to be 100% complete instead of 80%
