Awesome boat reminds me a lot of mine! Blue bu gang 💪

I have navionics on my boat and use it sparingly. It a little glitchy in my 2015 even with a brand new small screen. If I’m going to use it, I need to click on it as soon as I start up the boat and leave it on that nav screen until I’m done using it. If I click over to the stereo or systems control page it isn’t able to pull the navionics screen up again. I purchased it 2 years ago from navionics directly and it came with an SD card that was pre loaded but also came with a membership to update the card to newest maps before I installed it. Since then I haven’t kept the membership active but the chip still works fine in the back of the display.

Waterproof Malibu OEM Cover - Waterproof sprays?
oldjeep replied to rdpatten's topic in Boat Storage
Not sure any of them would work real well for a dry suit since they are not really designed for immersion. Google says there are a few products out there for doing what you want. -

Which of these products would you try on an old dry suit - just getting kind of "oozy"; trying to limp thru this spring before replacing! -

You could also try this - it is what sunbrella is recommending these days https://www.sunbrella.com/sunbrella-restore-fabric-protector-and-repellent-32 -

303 Fabric guard - it is what malibu originally recommended. I use it on my boat cover and wifes convertible top. Just make sure cover is nice and clean. If the seams are really leaking bad you can also consider some seam sealer - similiar to what you would use on a tent. No cover stays waterproof forever without additional treatment. -

303 fabric guard would be my choice but a cover that old might just need replacing -
Preseason Maintenance Best Practices
Rack replied to SkiWhiz70's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Depending on the type of Batteries you have ( Lead acid or AGM ) will depend on your charging method. Do a web search into winter boat storage and see what applies to your situation. I have always removed the batteries from the boat for winter storage. I started this when I had lead acid batteries and continue this practice with the new AGM. removing them gives you a chance to visually inspect the case for cracks and leaks. Store and charge in a place that is not exposed to freezing temps. I -
ISO a 2-piece tower for a 2002 21' sunsetter
SkipGundlach replied to SkipGundlach's topic in General Discussion Area
Update: So far I'm strongly inclined to a Monster MT2, as it most closely resembles in form and function my preferred Titan. I'm in conversation with Monster currently, as to my anal-retentive attention to detail regarding mounting both the tower and a bimini to best effect (best, anyway, I see it, to drill, tap, machine screw, and Loctite blue dissimilar metals bimini fastenings, and oversized base and backing plate support for fiberglass). Meanwhile, Scott has suggested in a flyby as he goes in for open heart bypass surgery that perhaps, after all, a Titan might be made affordably. So, as the boat won't be seatrialed, let alone sitting where we can do something with/to it, for the moment, the research continues. But, since I may have your attention again, does anyone have the gunwale spread distance just aft of the side windows on an 02 21' Sunscape, and likewise, just aft of the handrails in front of the windshield? And, putting all my begs in one askit, are there any impedimentia under those areas making drilling/bolting challenging? Thanks for any knowledge! The boat's 93" beam will make for careful docking with the dock roof supports' spread 100"... -
I use the starbrite waterproofing on my cover too. My new $950 cover, from a canvas shop, started leaking after the 5th year. Really disappointed with the fabric, whatever it is.

I have used this in the past and it worked nicely. It was on a much newer cover, but it would only be a $50 gamble to see how it does. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000AY4RE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 -
A cover that old, I would probably recommend replacement. Sounds like there’s a lot of degradation in that fabric if it’s leaking that badly. The chemicals are hit or miss, they might add some more life back in but that fabric is still gonna be 15+ years old and ready to tear in a strong windstorm. I bought a backup sunbrella cover through bald mikes for around $750. It’s really nice, trailerable, and durable. I’m pretty sure someone has a decent cover on the classifieds that is cheap and would likely work on your boat.

Our 2008 Wakesetter cover leaks terribly, I believe it's the original cover. It seems to get more water in the boat than the amount it actually rains! Has anyone had success with any of the waterproof sprays? The cover is in good shape, but leaks like a sieve.

1st or 2nd gen toyota sequoia would be my recommendation. Those 4.7 and 5.7 motors are bulletproof and the frames are stout. I have a 2001 with 404k miles on it and use it to pull my 22ft travel trailer all over the PNW and can use it to move my 23lsv around town or for short distances if I need to. There’s a ton of high mileage stock mall cruising sequoias and land cruisers available that could easily get the job done for you. I don’t think you should put a really high value on low mileage because you’re going to miss out on some great options. Good luck! -

I'm late to the party. But my 2010 WK grand with Hemi pulls JUST fine. I don't tow far, to and from the launch 2-4x a year and to fuel it when needed. I know the 2010 LSV is back there, but it's totally fine. -

Yup, it works! Hallelujah, and thanks again to JustGary!! As proof, pertinent to an earlier question, here's one of me with a ball being rounded: -
I sprayed it down with water last night, and I think it will be fine. I wouldn't want to make it abrasive - 99% of the time people sit on that area and pivot to the swim platform - Or simply step over the stern from the rear seat . People do however step on the sides of my boat when boarding from the dock, or maybe jumping into the water - That gelcoat is 100 X's more slick than this piece of wood.

The revos are on sale for a great price currently! And they’re a great speaker. A lot of people have also liked Rockford, JL, hertz, etc!

If you do one more coat of varnish and sprinkle a little silica sand on it - might get even more grip than the vinyl -

That looks awesome! Very nice work. And my dad had the same trolling motor mount on our 1998 Moomba Outback. We didn’t do much trolling but did fish for bass and I caught some big fish on that boat lol. The layout actually made it very nice for fishing. -

WOW. I haven't yet tried it, but I'm hooked. I try to support anything I've found useful, and this site is my salvation as a Malibu newbie. So: I'm a crew chief, or whatever the top end is for the label, now. I hope to figure out the mechanism for stuff on my computer, but even if I fail, y'all are my heroes. Thanks!
