In my market. On a Malibu 30% is a good discount. I would think clearance hot sale would be better.

Ignition breaker tripping, unplug rear view camera, 2016-2020
homer12 replied to JasonK's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
HELP! So I’ve unplugged and tested function with every dash connector I could disconnect. Same issue always with this red wire from ignition breaker. any other suggestions? I cannot for the life of me understand where a short to ground would be coming from and how it started all of a sudden. I would buy a wiring schematic myself if I could purchase one from somewhere right now! -
From a real estate standpoint, Tommy’s is leasing the Rancho Cordova and Stockton buildings from the previous owner, Larson (Marine). I have a feeling Mr Larson will be owning these two dealerships again for pennies on the dollar.

We just had our 2023 M220 out on the water today. The boat is huge and a huge upgrade over our 2020 23 MXZ. Handles better, surf wave is better, more free board, and the fit and finish is awesome. And I got my Speakersox from Jim!! Now the stereo is a whole different story....lol

I’ve been trying to get a build sheet and price on some 2023s from them with no luck so far. Someone texted me back, but never responded with any information or details.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your project.

I purchased this ole girl back last fall with a blown SBC and the intention was to replace with a used motor and flip it. Months later I found a Mercruiser Vortech complete engine that was running. I sent my father to pick it up and the guy fired it up hanging from a cherry picker. Got it home and I mounted the tranny then was going to replace the intake and saw some glittery material in the valley tray between the lifters. So I flipped it over and pulled the pan to find a destroyed crank on two journals. At that moment I was beyond frustrated, I own a Corvette salvage yard and we have installed LS engines in everything you can imagine. I always wanted to drop one in my 88 Skier but it cost so much I never did it. Well after this used motor I wasn’t about to buy another one used. New rebuilt vs the money to LS swap was really close considering I had 5 LS1’s sitting on the shelf. I had started to really like this boat and had so many hours in it after finding soft spots in the floor and bad spots in the stringers. I ripped all of that out and went back all new. The interior/seats had been done previously with no wood and nice vinyl. I decided to do the swap and here are some pictures just after sitting the engine back in for the last time. I have several small things to finish up so it is not finished. I am replacing the electric water pump due to not having room for the filters to protect it. I will be done wiring in a few days and will breath some life into this old girl.

Power Wedge Not Moving
PNWoke replied to CarveItUp228's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
It shouldn’t be real hard to extend or contract the ram when the set screw is turned counterclockwise. I remember that I only needed to unscrew less than 1 full turn to be able to move the wedge in any direction with ease. Based on what you’re describing, it is likely a problem with the hydraulic side, vs the electrical motor running it. The ram likely seized causing the motor to seize (if unprotected). That set screw essentially opens up a hydraulic fluid channel between both sides of the hydraulic ram so the fluid should just run between them when the ram is pushed or pulled. From what you describe, your relays are still likely good. If I were you I would refrain from testing this wedge ram anymore through your boat screen for fear of causing heat/current related electrical issues with your relays/wedge control modules. Those relays are pretty sensitive and prone to failure, so using them with a known likely bad wedge actuator might invite extra problems down the road. -
I was able to get a quote from Tommy's on a 2024 23 LSV. Looks just over 30% off MSRP plus shipping. Guessing they'll ship anywhere, but who knows what would happen as far as dealer prep and etc. They still have a lot of 2023's for sale too, I wonder how aggressively they would price those.

Straighten Prop Shaft in the boat v drive

You'll get it right. Not sure if it was mentioned, but the strut should be verified straight and square too. -
Straighten Prop Shaft in the boat v drive
Nick55 replied to kcpilotpat's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
My opinion, straighten the shaft, then use that as a guide for determining how to address the strut as you slide it in and out of the strut into the bottom of the boat. (I’ve always thought a laser would be awesome for this). It should move in with minimal “knocking” into center of the packing base. You can usually use a flashlight and see how it slides into the base (left, right, up, or down contact) and the. You can actually use the shaft to make small adjustments (use it as a lever, LIGHTLY). Get that to be 95%, then slide the coupler on the end and push it up to the transmission output flange. That will tell you how far off the engine alignment is. -
Straighten Prop Shaft in the boat v drive
justgary replied to kcpilotpat's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
It should be pretty easy to sight past the rudder and see if the shaft and strut are aligned with the tracking fins. The strut would most likely bend to the port side, which would make the shaft end jut distinctly toward port. This thread has a few photos that might help: -

2017 VLX Touch Screen Issue
PNWoke replied to jeg101586's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Sorry bud! I’m betting you will be replacing that small screen. I had the exact same issue on my 2015 lsv 2 years ago. If you take a really close look, you will likely find tiny bubbles of delamination towards the bottom or top of the small screen. It will continue to get worse and worse, that screen will flash more and more and it will not be able to keep stereo going, will be adjusting your settings while moving, etc. Eventually it will stop communicating with your upper screen and the upper screen will register no information (speed/rpms/temp/etc). Your boat will continue to run and it will likely not throw codes, but obviously it is not safe to run with the screen doing that. I have video of my screen doing it if you want to verify I could upload it to YouTube and send you a link. Very frustrating because the screen appears almost brand new until you get a really close look and find the delam’d areas. Good luck and sorry for the bad news! I hope I am wrong but that’s literally the exact same issue I had. Fwiw I sent the video to the local Malibu service manager and he immediately replied that it’s a known issue and will require a new screen. I doubt it’s a result of too much time in the sun alone - as my boat had spent most of its life in Utah and Oregon in hvac controlled garages. When on the water I have always meticulously covered the screens with towels to keep them out of any prolonged direct sunlight. That said the problems with ghosting did get worse and worse the longer the season went, and eventually the delams got big enough to find. edit: uploaded one of the vids of my screen on YouTube so it could be documented with this forum issue. link: -
Straighten Prop Shaft in the boat v drive
kcpilotpat replied to kcpilotpat's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
I watched the videos, thanks. The vee drive is much more difficult to get to. The strut looks ok. should I remove it also? If it's bent it will really mess with the alignment of the drive coupling. I was going to pull the shaft just a bit and if the alignment was good or close I was going to assume the strut was not bent. Once pulled i was going to check the price of new shaft compared to straightening it. I work with machine shops frequently. The shaft is defiantly bent, about .050 runout aft of the strut. Forward about .003 runout. Pat -

No audio on all of the audio modes

Tower amp and cabin amp are supplied by different RCA, so its related to the black box. I guess I should have also asked if it was on audio modes or just BT? If its just BT, then it could be the BT unit or one of the RCA outputs has worked loose.

Straighten Prop Shaft in the boat v drive
Nick55 replied to kcpilotpat's topic in Maintenance, Tech Info & Troubleshooting
Www.Skidim.com for the plastic cutlass bearings (way better than the rubber), and goretex packing unless you just have to have a dripless seal. Could try taking measurements of the shaft and contacting Great Lakes Skipper or Bakes. But most of the time the shafts can be straightened (as well as struts). To be honest, the strut and prop usually bend way before the shaft does. Here’s some videos, the first is on a direct drive shaft removal, but it’s good to see how it works because you are limited in access on a V-drive. https://youtu.be/_qBaSVx7tcg?si=qV1owjqOoOdnj98q https://youtu.be/NkzStf_91fs?si=0hfo3Xy_cPA7yNix https://youtu.be/wruAOHYFN1s?si=WaZ74t0k8oOc6XIS -
