Crossing over from LSV must haves - just got a quote for a left over 2023 23LSV.  They were 23% off MSRP, but then there is a 10K Malibu rebate that gets you down to a 28% discount from MSRP. 218K MSRP down to 156K with the 10K rebate.   This was my 1st discussion with them, so I'm sure there is more room.  Doesn't seem enough to me.  What do y'all think? I thought people on here were getting 25% off brand new models.

@ThePeggyLou @Horns1 - For context on new vs used discussion, I was ready to buy new.  I am fortunate enough to have a great local dealer.  If new was close to used, I'd spend more to go new. Got a few quotes on an A245 and 23 LSV (2024s).  Just too much cash.

I ended up searching high and low for a used 23 LSV.  I looked for 2021+ because I wanted the walkover in the rear of the boat.  After a long search, I ended up buying a 2022 23 LSV that was well optioned with 20 hours on it, in January.  That was a cold test drive, even on Lake Martin in AL.  I bought a new Malibu trailer (the boat didn't have a trailer from the factory); I found another dealer about 3 hours away that happened to have a leftover new 2022 trailer in stock for a great price, and they delivered it to the boat.  I also transferred the warranty with Malibu via the dealer for about $1700 ($1000 to Malibu and $700 to the dealer for inspection).

The $700 inspection from the dealer was a little gouging, but they found a few things that they fixed under the newly transferred warranty while it was there, and everything tested perfectly including compression, updated software to the latest release, etc.

How did this compare to new when looking at "out the door" costs that include sales tax and dealer prep costs?  Pretty staggering difference.  If I use the $156K example above, the cost delta is approximately $46K.  That is serious money (more than I sold my old Malibu boat for, LOL).  On the boat I purchased, the accessories like the Icebox cooler, surfband, the PTM mirror, Phender Pro clips, etc. were still in their boxes and the boat is perfect.  The cover looks like it was never used (was rack stored at the lake inside).  I have always bought used boats and they have always treated me well.  Here's to another used winner!  :-) Good luck in your search!

    • Just spent the last two hours watching youtube video's of Holley system tuning. Looks like a lot of fun if you have a pretty good clue about engine systems. Be cool to be fluent at this programming.

    • All the above is sound advice.  My only thought is you’re likely in the realm of hours where you might consider replacing some of the less expensive accessories like bilge and ballast pumps, maybe pnp bags if they are getting worn out, trailer bunk and axle repairs things of this type of nature.  Not super expensive but stuff I would feel better about replacing in a 1000 hour boat.  I wouldn’t get too hung up on upholstery because at that discounted price you will find that there’s good options available to renew the interior for a reasonable price.  Fwiw my general rule for most modern wake boats is that they are usually designed to make it to 2000 hours pretty easily when well maintained.  I sold my 2014 with 950 hours and it ran flawlessly and didn’t have the best maintenance record before I bought it in 2017.  It’s still on the water now, after being fully totaled in a marina fire in 2020

That is exactly what mine was doing all day! I checked all over the screen and didn't see any delamination but I am going to run out and check when I get home from the office. Seems like I'm going to be shelling out for a new screen in the near future. 😔

At least you have mtcscreens.com!  I wish it was available when I needed one.  $1700 is a lot more palatable than $4000.  That said I was super happy with the boat after I replaced the screen, even paying that much!  I just wrote it off as an extra seasons worth of gas and moved on.

    • Got a quote on a left over 23 from Tommys - it was either 28% or 30% - depending on if there was a dealer prep charge or not & how you want to look at it. I see they definitely all play games w/ the MRSP & trailer.  Looks like some are also adding in dealer prep fees & freight & the shipping cover.   I have a quote from another dealer, that is still an active dealer & they were 23% off, but they quoted an additional $10K Malibu Promo rebate (Spring for Summer) which got it down to 28% off.   Based on Sixers post was hoping they would be more than 28% on closeouts.
