    • Got a quote on a left over 23 from Tommys - it was either 28% or 30% - depending on if there was a dealer prep charge or not & how you want to look at it. I see they definitely all play games w/ the MRSP & trailer.  Looks like some are also adding in dealer prep fees & freight & the shipping cover.   I have a quote from another dealer, that is still an active dealer & they were 23% off, but they quoted an additional $10K Malibu Promo rebate (Spring for Summer) which got it down to 28% off.   Based on Sixers post was hoping they would be more than 28% on closeouts.

    • That's going to take a lot of fab work.  The RFX-MR5BB is 6.5x4" and is flat (noting behind it but a cable).  The PMX5Can is a din sized (i.e. same as a car stereo) unit that has a 7+" mounting depth.

If I were you I'd look at a different black box setup like the Wetsounds MC1 or a smaller form factor HU like the JL MediaMaster 105.

    • Hard to tell, but seems like a lot of hours for a not too old boat.  I believe the boats have a 5 year factory warranty, would you benefit from any remaining time on that (I suppose it depends on when they put it in service).  My two Malibus have been relatively trouble free but not perfect.  I'd look to make sure all the electronics are functioning as intended as well.  The touch screens can get pretty expensive to repair.

I was considering running another wire to replace it.  But I don't have it all traced out and have been resisting pulling all the wire looms, tape and zip ties apart to completely follow it.  I am taking it to the dealer Thursday and see what they can do now.

As for the breaker itself, the horn breaker is a 5A right next to it and I tried using it as a spare and got same results.  I think I will wait and see if dealer finds something before trying to run a new wire for it.  Thanks for all your insights!

If it is the thick gauged wire, it runs behind the helm (in the bow), down behind the walkthrough between the bow ballast tank, over into the OB side tied into the battery area.

    • Installed, they say it tracks straight, yet to be confirmed on the water.  Will be Thursday afternoon before I can take her out.
