FAKE-A-LAKE IS s***. I bought one today and I'll be upgrading to a Flush Pro. Just my two cents.

 Nice first post.

 Is this the "People Are Wound Too Tight" thread?

He's just mad he's on a malibu forum and ownes a Gekko, it's envy. I know the fake-a-lake works it takes forever to get my boat up to operating temp with it.

When you use the fake a lake do you start the engine and then start the water immediately? Or do you let the water run for a minute then start the engine?

It looks like a plunger that seals around the water intake. so it is wedged between the ground and hull.

ok ive got 2 open holes on the bottom of my boat,, how do i know what one is the intake??

There's a domed bronze slotted screen (for lack of a better word) on the hull for the raw water intake. It's more or less located under the right rear quarter. Match it up to the hose in the engine compartment that leads to the impeller to be sure.

I bought a strainer cup. Cut a hole in the bottom and epoxied a hose fitting in hole. Take original cup off (which you should clean anyway) screw retro cup on, hook up hose and run. Don’t have to crawl under boat. Don’t lose rubber gasket.
