fuel pump replacement - which one?

Recommended Posts

So there are a bunch of threads out here for the Indmar Monsoon engine fuel pump in my '98 sunsetter.  I haven't been able to come to a definitive answer on both this forum and other forums about the Carter P5000 vs. Carter P61171 pump differences.

So the question is:  Given this generation of boat/motor, and the fuel pressure requirements, does anyone have direct experience w/ the P61171 pump?  There's a few with the P5000, but I'd prefer to stay with a Marine Pump.

I went with the Indmar Pierburg 55-6184. I cross referenced the number off of the numbers that were on my old pump.

This is for the Monsoon 325 in a 2002, Guessing its the same Inline pump.
