Impeller Quality?

different answer to the question than what you are asking, but here's what happened when I bought an impeller from nautiqueparts.com, and they'd had problems with a bad run of impellers.

had a spare, we were back in business in short order.

I won't even buy the sierra brand after a spun hub in one on my old i/o.  Johnson only for me.  Usually pay about $23

I had a different problem with a Sierra impeller for an I/O, it was a little too short, so it didn't seal and wouldn't pump water.

Changed my first impeller out in 2011 with another Johnson.   After eight seasons it was still like new, and now it is my spare.  I used to take a peek in the housing every year to check though. Now it's every other.  I'm guessing my crystal clear weed free lake helps with the longevity.

I was using Globes for years and still changing every year. Figured if I'm going new each year use cheaper johnsons which I have done for last few years. Everything always comes out looking new @ approx 110 hrs per year. Just wanting to see if anyone has real world experience with these eBay ones.

So far no one has admitted to using them.

Do the new Fords take the same old Johnson as the GM blocks did?

I may end up in a newer boat this year and don't want to buy 2 if it won't fit next boat.

yes, same impeller

Been running the cheap E bay one this year, 40 hrs so far so good. Sold the boat but still have visiting rights. Will see how she holds up for the year.

Update

Helped new owner winterize this year and pulled the E bay impeller at 100 hours of use this year. Looked as good as any Johnson I have used. Surprised no one else here has tried them. I would not hesitate to do it again. I have had Johnson 812 B fail in 1 years time before.

Stop changing them then.  The Globes last longer.  Hell, I've got a muffler delete and changing an impeller is a cake job yet I'm still not pulling mine.  There just isn't a reason to.
