2015 LSV 23 Surf Gate not deploying properly

Hey guys,

We've been having issues with our Surf Gate lately and was wondering if any of you had an idea on how to fix this. The Surf Gate deploys properly in service mode and when surfing on the right of the boat. On the left of the boat, it deploys roughly 50% unless we accelerate aggressively, exceed the set cruise speed and then slow back down. It'll then deploy 100% and is surfable. If we accelerate normally, it won't deploy properly 90% of the time. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Sam

On my 2013 I had to calibrate it multiple times for it to work. Actually first I solved other problems by uploading the most current software and then had to recalibrate the surfgates which took multiple tries.

See how tight the bolt and nut are that holds the actuator to the surfgate bracket.  You should be able to easily rotate the bolt back and forth with a small 1/2 wrench or pliers.  If the bolts are too tight, the actuator will bind up and not work properly.  Loosen the nylock nut until the bolt can be rotated easily.  Make sure the locking nylon is still touching the bolt threads (don't loosen it too much).  If the nylock nut is worn out, or the bolt sticks, replace it with a new one and clean up the hole.  Try running surfgate calibration and use the surfgate service on the setup menu to make sure everything is moving correctly.  You should have at least a 1/2 inch gap or more between the gate and the platform when they are retracted.  Brackets can be shimmed if more space is needed.  Hope this helps.
