Skier's Pier Boat Storage

I bought two new boats from them.  One in 2013 and one in 2014.  Their sales department is awesome.  They are a high volume dealer so the prices are great too.  I got smoking deals on both boats.

Service?....not so much.  Even after buying 2 brand new boats, I felt like the communication and attention to service/warranty claims was just awful.  Even if I went back to Bu I probably wouldn't buy from them.

If they could hire a really good service manager and improve communication, they would be a top notch dealer.  Everyone there is super nice, the service department is just....meh....

I've never had any dealings with them. But, if you are a large volume dealer, you are going to have large volume service needs. Great service sells. People will go out of their way, if they know good service can be had.

Not adding much to the conversation here, ha.

Were the repairs agreed upon before the purchase or a 3rd party warranty purchased? You bought a 12 almost 13 year old boat. If the answer is no to both questions then the dealer, anywhere in the country, isn't obligated to take care of them.

Also calling people out by name? Come on man. Post a thread with the issues you have and I am 99% sure you will get quick, detailed answers on here.

Your correct ahopkinsTXi.  The dealer probably has no legal obligation to make anything right.  I accept my responsibility and will probably end up doing the repairs or paying for them to be done.

I disagree with you in regards to dealers around the country.  I have purchased used cars and received great follow up.  I have worked with reputable dealers that know their product and stand behind it.  There are dealers around the state and country who are willing to stand behind their sales.  There are dealers who have well trained staff that are held to high expectations.  Consumers should hold businesses accountable for good customer service and reliable products.

This forum provides an opportunity for owners and future owners help each other with challenges.  I'm simply trying to connect with others that may have had similar experience and may have some helpful suggestions.  Thank you for your input.

All that being said, I am still hopeful that the Skier's Pier team will make this right and provide a solution that works for both of us.

That's fair, although the auto industry and boating industry can't really be compared in my honest opinion. I say that because boating is territorial. There has even been examples of people buying a brand new boat then moving with the boat still under warranty and having issues with the new dealer location because they didn't buy from them. I'm not saying that's right but it happens.

Have you posted a thread with you issue yet? If it is anything you can do yourself I assume you would rather do that then towing it four to five hours back up north...
