I put my rear pumps in the same place as OP, but I ran my hoses longer so that they looped before connecting to the bags.  This takes a lot of the strain off the bag connector and I have no problem with the Flow-Rites leaking.  I used the crimp style hose clamps and used shrink tubing over them.  I figured the heat shrink would act as a strain relief on the hose, looked nicer and then there's no sharp edges to cut vinyl (especially for the front hose).  I got the shrink tubing on eBay.
