I have an 08 247 that usually stays on its covered lift but had the dealer store for me this winter. We have had some issues at our lake the past couple of years so I didn't want to leave it out. I don't have a trailer but am looking to get one. My dealer has an 07 trailer (?boatmate) that he will sell for $4200. What do you think of this price? Also does anyone have other suggestions for cheaper alternatives. The trailer will mainly just be used for storage or to take the boat for service. My dock is only a couple hundred feet from the house. I will not be pulling it any distance so did not want to spend a lot of money on a high end trailer. Thanks

Boatmate makes great trailers. I think I paid $4800 for my Boatmate w/ tandem axle and 16" alloys. The main steel beams of my trailer that stretch from bow to stern are 5" wide vs. 4" wide (I think those measurements are correct). I think this adds a tremendous amount of strength to the trailer and makes it tow oh so nice. It also has a fold away tongue and LED lights (which I highly recommend) and "Malibu" just in front of the fender that is backlit when you vehicle headlights are on. It is a really nice trailer that gets almost as many comments as the boat. The only thing it doesn't have is the stainless steel fenders.

I know my trailer probably has alot more creature comforts than it sounds like you are looking for. I just wanted to give you an idea about what I got for about $4800-$5000 so you would have something to compare pricing.

My trailer is for a 23LSV so I would image that the trailer for a 247 would cost a little more than mine did.

It sounds like $4200 is probably in the ball park. I know that you don't plan on trailering much, but I still wouldn't skimp on a trailer as far as manufacturing quality is concerned. From what I've seen in the wake/skiboat industry, I don't think there is a better made trailer than Boatmate.

Hope this helps.

I have surfed on line and sent in some requests to get price quotes from Loadmaster and another company I am blanking on right now. I have not heard back yet.

I was going to suggest Loadmaster, I had a buddy order one form them and I think he paid like $2200, not a bad trailer for something he only used once or twice a year.

Right after I ordered my boat and paid 5 K for the trailer, I saw a new Boatmate on Ebay with a buy it now price of 2400. Might be worth checking over there.

I would be calling these guys. MY Bu Dealer in MA East Coast Flight craft uses them all the time and cannot brag about them enough.
I have a 247 and bought a used boatmate trailer for $3000, but I think these guys make a new one custome for around that price.
Go over having the no frills options, leaf springs vs tortion bars, etc.

Since you did not get a dealer reference, you should be able to cut out the dealer commission...
Shipping could be a issue..

foxhall,
$4,200 sounds a little steep for the occasional use you're gonna get out of it.
Heck, it sounds like that dealer is selling it to you for just under full pop.
